Dan Seals is running in 2008

Good news! Dan Seals, the Democratic candidate for U.S. Rep for the 10th District of Illinois, with whom I volunteered last summer, is challenging incumbent Mark Kirk again in 2008. He already has a primary opponent too: Jay Footlik, an advsier to the 2004 Kerry campaign. I would be wary of anyone who's reaching out to John Kerry for campaign advice, as Footlik has reportedly done.

Could someone explain to me how having even more Democrats in Congress will help the typical American, and -- for that matter -- the typical Iraqi?

Also, for their relationship vis-a-vis the nation's established interests, I think nearly all politicians should be named "Footlik"! Perfect!!

Footlik is going to be a very strong candidate. His hometown, Skokie, IL isn't the North Shore, but its not too far. His long years in Washington should serve him well. It should be a very good primary. He's a guy Rahm could support.

footlik has actually proven to be an incredibly clumsy candidate in his first month or so of campaigning. he says he lives in vernon hills, his wife says they live in dc. krol's early interview found jay saying he didn't support withdrawal from iraq, footlik changes his mind after being in the district for a month. he can't seem to decide whether he lived in israel or illinois from 1998 to 2003. just not someone you can imagine beating mark kirk...
