Seriously, I don't know how these people can live with themselves, but I don't think they are so concered about that in the first place. Any Republican who sanctions such tactics (and at this point, it's as high as the RNC) is against the fundamental right to vote and has no business running to hold an office that serves the American people and our Constitution.Tim Daly from Clarendon got a call saying that if he votes Tuesday, he will be arrested. The transcript from his voicemail reads:
"This message is for Timothy Daly. This is the Virginia Elections Commission. We've determined you are registered in New York to vote. Therefore, you will not be allowed to cast your vote on Tuesday. If you do show up, you will be charged criminally."
Daly has been registered to vote in Virginia since 1998, and he has voted for the last several cycles with no problem. He has filed a criminal complaint with the Commonwealth's attorney in Arlington.

Um, yeah, I got an email yesterday evening at 7 PM from the CC Clerk's office asking if I had received my absentee ballot. I said no, and thanked them for depriving me of my right to vote. I see that they were all reelected.
That said, I'm proud of the voters in Illinois' 10th District.
Me too, at least 47 percent of them. Pretty impressive that a newcomer to politics waged such a successful campaign against a powerful member of the appropriations committee who had D.C. lobbyists in his pocket and didn't care to acknowledge his constituents until he faced a more difficult election.
I went to the UPS store where they couldn't mail the ballot out that night, so I had to go to FedEx, where they can't mail to P.O. Boxes. I decided to use the street address of the Cook County Clerk's Office. So frustrating. I'm going to wager a guess that the increased voter turnout was hard for the various counties to handle, including our's. I'm also going to register in whatever county I'm living in for 2008.
