For Hire

Who: Me
When: this Summer
What: an internship
Why: time is running out and I don't have one. I currently have 3 places to hear from and just sent out one more application, and it's almost May! Summer is almost here. (one already rejected me).

If you know of any internship in the political area or really any area that seems interesting, let me know. Sure, this is a facile way to get an internship and actually just my way of publicizing my general anxiety about having no idea what I'm doing or where I will be this summer with but a month and a half till it commences.

Thanks for reading, Melissa! Yes, this experience is at least acquainting me with what I will face next year as a senior...wait, that's probably not a good thing...

Chris was reading this a few minutes ago...and to advise a friend of a friend...maybe if you didn't have such a bitter depressing view of life...and perhaps if you had more of a sense of humor, you might be more successful.

Nevertheless, look into feminist orgs.

Au contraire (ok, so I don't speak French at all) "Anonymous": Elaine is easily one of the least bitter people I know, and is also one of the funniest. So what if she tells it like it is?

First, I apologize for the comment left by my Anne Coulter-wannabe Gtown Writing Center colleague. Women can be such bitches to each other sometimes.

Anyway, I totally sympathize with the situation Elaine. I am still looking for a job, and to add insult to injury, one of our friends from NT, has gotten a job in DC, once she graduates from Dartmouth in June.

I'm just glad I have an extra year to tool around while I get my MA.

Heh, yeah your friend was rather harsh! I'm surprised you are having trouble, Chris, with all of the work you've done in D.C. already, which just goes to show it isn't easy to get a job in that town, and I guess we just have to be persistent. P.S. Where is our Dartmouth friend going to work? (I guess I could always ask her..)

P.S. Thanks Melissa. Anyway, I've heard of posting on blogs to take issue with something someone has written, but calling someone you've never met bitter and lacking in a sense of humor seems a little, well...bitter and lacking in a sense of humor. Hmm, that was kind of funny...give in anonymous, admit that I have a sense of humor.

Join the club. I need a goddamn internship too. It was a really good idea to wait until the last 2 weeks of school to start the hunt. Great minds think alike.
